Two of them form the bedrock of our identity: Japanese cellulose acetate and medical-grade Japanese titanium. Two materials, two philosophies. Japanese acetate: the nobility of life

Unlike injected plastic, cellulose acetate is a natural, biodegradable material made from cotton fibres and wood pulp. At Diffuse, we select only Japanese acetate, renowned the world over for its purity, density and unrivalled depth of colour.

Each sheet of acetate we use is pressed, aged and polished by hand, offering rich reflections and a warm texture to the touch. It's a living material that evolves over time, adapting to the face and developing a subtle patina, just like full-grain leather or fine wood.

Titanium: between lightness and precision

In contrast to the organic sensuality of acetate, Japanese titanium embodies rigour, lightness and technical precision. Used in aeronautics and high-tech watchmaking, this material offers exceptional resistance, while being 60% lighter than steel.

Hypoallergenic, flexible and rust-proof, titanium enables the creation of ultra-thin, radically sober frames, where every detail – hinge, plate, curve – is designed like a piece of engineering. It is the material of absolute comfort, at the service of a minimalist, sophisticated aesthetic.
